Special Guest Author Day
We were pleased to welcome Lucy Daniel Raby to Talking Point on 15th October. Lucy is the author of Nickolai of the North and its sequel Nickolai’s Quest. These are two fantasy fiction books about the childhood of Santa Claus, the first of which is in the process of being made in to a film.
Lucy spent the day with children from local schools, talking about her journey in writing the books as well as giving readings and a signing session.
All involved had a fantastic day, adults and children alike!
Raising money for Charity with Fashion Show
Local clothes shop Demolition held a charity event here at Talking Point on Thursday 13th November. All proceeds raised were donated at the charity Action Duchenne. The event involved a spectacular Fashion Show, entertainment from singer Morgan, prize draw and opportunities to purchase items of clothing and accessories from Demolition.
Seasons Greetings…
I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very early seasons greeting. I very much look forward to welcoming you back to the conference and exhibition centre in the New Year.

Talking Point will soon have a long awaited sign. Operations Director, Claire Duggan has been working with local company Signs Express from Stockport to create the perfect exterior sign. ‘It has to be tasteful and stylish to reflect the interior of the building, but also eye catching to attract enquiries and new business.’ It’s been a long process but finally a design has been agreed and the new sign should be fitted during the first week in May.
The photograph is an artists impression of what the new sign will look like, please let us know your thoughts on the new sign.

NEW PRODUCTS

Over the coming week’s new signage, images and brochures will start to appear at Talking Point.
The new Talking Point brochure arrived in the Centre a couple of weeks ago and has been flying out the door. We have already had many requests from businesses and schools, and since these have been going out we’ve been having many enquiries and bookings for room space. Last week alone we took 50% more enquiries than the previous week.
‘We are starting to get very busy now and a lot of this business seems to be due to word of mouth, recommendations and the brochure. The brochure looks fantastic and we’re really pleased with it.’ Katie Greaves, Centre Manager.
Claire Duggan worked closely with designer Liz Dargan from Brand Creative to ensure the brochure had the right look and feel. ‘Liz was excellent in taking the brief and coming up with something contemporary and stylish. She recommended the photographer, Richard Moran and between them they have created a stunning piece of work that is very successful in selling the Centre’ Claire Duggan, Operations Director.
For your copy of the new Talking Point brochure, please contact Katie Greaves on 01457 877471 or download free from http://www.thetalkingpoint.com/

Talking Point welcomes St. Paul's Church parishioners
Linda and Clive Davies (Directors of Talking Point) were delighted to receive a picture from St. Paul's former parishioners. The picture was presented by Robert Knott (right) at a recent open day. Painted by Saddleworth artist David Ford, the picture features 3 images of the church and will be displayed within the centre.
